Barbara Kay Keene

Barbara Kay Keene, 67, passed away October 8, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, with her family by her side.  She was born March 20, 1956, in Farmington, NM, the daughter of Melvin and Rosemary Brown Gabehart.  A resident of Hutchinson most of her life, she had been a dietary manager for Good Samaritan Society for 22 years and for Golden Plains Nursing Home for 5 years.  

In 1973 she married Benjamin Vincent.  They later divorced and he passed away in 2022.  She later married Tony Keene in 1989.  He passed away in 2001.  

Barbara enjoyed playing pool, fishing, loved clowns, and had worked at the Kansas State Fair for over 20 years.  She was a liver transplant survivor.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacy (Jason) Sisler, Hutchinson; a brother, Dennis Gabehart, Hutchinson; and 2 grandchildren, Briana Vincent and Davonte Neely.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; and a brother, Alan Gabehart.

A private family burial will take place.  A celebration of life come and go will be held from 10-4 on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the Ave A building, 13 W.
