Larry Eugene Yates

Larry Yates,87, passed away May 9, 2024, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Center, Buhler. He was born September 10, 1936, in Sterling, KS the son of Jasper and Iva Mae Clark Yates. He married Rosemary Drake on April 3, 1966, in Alden, KS. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2024.

An avid farmer, Larry was a steward of the land who saw this responsibility as his Christian duty and calling. His animals, and the land he worked, were incredibly important to him. He wanted nothing more than to “have some dirt under him”.

He attended Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman.

Larry is survived by his sister Glenna Taylor, Great Bend, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Maurice Yates.

Visitation will be held 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Inman Funeral Home, with the family present. Graveside services will be 9:30am Wednesday, May 15th at Peace Valley Cemetery. Celebration of Life services will follow 11:00am at Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman. Services will be live streamed on the Inman Funeral Home Facebook page.
